ROAD DNA, GRAVEL CAPABILITY
At the heart of the Elara is its geometry.
Factor has deliberately taken cues from its road platforms, with a longer reach, reduced trail and a lower bottom bracket than you might typically expect from a gravel bike. The goal is to create a riding position and handling character that will feel familiar to a road racer, while retaining the stability required when speeds increase and the surface becomes unpredictable. On a size Medium, the Elara has a 388 mm reach, 576 mm stack, a 71.5-degree head-tube angle, 73-degree seat-tube angle and 80 mm of bottom-bracket drop.The head-tube angles range from approximately 71 to 72 degrees across the size range, while chainstay length remains at 423 mm. The combination gives the Elara a relatively aggressive race position without making the handling nervous. The lower bottom bracket also lowers the rider’s centre of gravity, contributing to traction and control when cornering at speed. Despite the 423 mm chainstays, Factor says the effective rear-centre relationship remains similar to the OSTRO Gravel when considered relative to the rider’s centre of gravity. The additional chainstay length also creates the space required for much larger wheel and tyre combinations.
TYRE CLEARANCE
Perhaps the most notable aspect of the Elara’s design is how much tyre it can accommodate without compromising its race-focused geometry. The frame can accept tyres up to 57 mm on 700C wheels, depending on the configuration and Factor-approved rim widths. Factor has also designed an offset seat-tube junction to create the necessary clearance around the drivetrain and rear tyre. With a 2x drivetrain, the Elara accommodates tyres up to 47 mm, while 1x configurations can run tyres up to 57 mm. That makes the Elara unusual among aerodynamic gravel race bikes. It has been designed to remain highly efficient with the relatively narrow tyres used on fast courses, while still being capable of accepting much larger rubber when conditions demand it.

A NEW GRAVEL RACE COCKPIT
The Elara is paired with Factor’s new Race Bar Black Inc Aero Gravel Bar AB07, developed alongside the frame. The one-piece cockpit incorporates a subtle amount of flare while maintaining the relatively road-like feel expected from a dedicated race bike. It also features an integrated computer mount and internal hose routing. Despite the level of integration, Factor has deliberately avoided unnecessary complexity. Mounting points and cable routing remain accessible and serviceable, reflecting the company’s approach of combining clean integration with practical engineering. The result is a cockpit that contributes to the Elara’s aerodynamic profile without turning routine servicing into an unnecessarily complicated exercise
WHEELSET OPTIONS
To complement the Elara, Factor has developed the Black Inc SIXTY FOUR Gravel wheelset as a dedicated high-performance gravel racing option. The wheels were developed with input from Factor Racing athlete Magnus Bak Klaris, the 2025 men’s Gravel Earth Series overall champion. The SIXTY FOUR is designed around the same principle as the Elara itself: maximise speed without sacrificing the ability to handle the increasingly demanding courses found in modern gravel racing. The wheelset uses a generous 30 mm internal rim width, allowing it to accommodate tyres up to 57 mm, or 2.2 inches. Standard builds will use Black Inc’s Forty Six gravel wheelset. The new Sixty Four wheelset is available at a R15k surcharge.
